Guest Editorial: Creating New Economic Paradigms: The Role of Development Education

Development education (DE) has always operated on the interface between the local and the global.  The primary beneficiaries of DE practice are largely located in local education sectors, formal and informal, with the content of education programmes mostly focusing on global issues.  However, recent discourse in development education has signalled a growing concern in the sector that practitioners should be questioning the development process at home as well as interrogating social justice and equality issues overseas.
